What is Drumline?

Drumline is the group of students in the marching band that play percussion instruments. The students who march with their instruments is called the battery, and the ones who play stationary instruments on the front sideline is called the pit or front ensemble. Together these two sections make up the rhythm section of the marching band. A drumline usually consists of snares, tenors, bass drums, and cymbals. The snare usually sets the beat for the band to march onto the field.
